Pygmy Right WhaleThe Pygmy Right Whale is the smallest of all baleen whales. Very view sightings have so far been reported and this makes it hard to study this whale at all. Scientific findings are mainly based upon stranded animals. Therefore, only very little is known about this species. This whale remains a mystery – one of many in the oceans! Length and WeightAdult length: 5 – 6 m (females are slightly larger than males) Body weight: 3.5 tonnes (3500 kg)This is almost the size and weight of a blue whale calf! Calves are thought to be about 3 m when weaned.
